2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: A Perennial Best-Seller
October 01 2024 - Gary Mollohan

Car lovers have taken notice of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Car and Driver awarded it a solid 8/10 rating, praising the sedan's posh cabin, nimble handling, and powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine. "Smaller and sportier than the flagship S-class, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz C-class nonetheless offers a similar experience in a more compact and affordable package," wrote the editors.

The example above arrives in gorgeous MANUFAKTUR Patagonia Red Metallic with a Macchiato Beige interior. Factory options include the Exclusive Line Package, Active Distance Assist, Rear Spoiler, Heated & Ventilated Front Seats, and more. See specifications.

Great Looks
The new C-Class appears to be in motion even when standing still, thanks to its dynamic proportions. Its short front overhang, long wheelbase, and rear overhang create a sporty look, while the windshield and passenger cell have been moved to the rear for a classic "cab-backward design." The interior of the new C-Class takes inspiration from the latest S-Class, adding a modern luxury and sporty touch to the high-value appeal of the preceding model.

Inside the Cabin
The dashboard is split into upper and lower sections, with a wing-like design housing new flattened round vents resembling aircraft engine nacelles. The opulent trim flows seamlessly from the center console to the dashboard, creating a luxurious expanse. The driver-focused design adds to the sporty feel, with the dashboard and central display tilted six degrees towards the driver. A standard 12.3-inch high-resolution display in the driver area replaces traditional cockpits with classic round dials, setting it apart.

Engine
All C-Class models come equipped with a 255-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This turbocharged engine is complemented by a 48-volt hybrid system which can deliver an additional 20 horsepower when needed. While rear-wheel drive is the standard configuration, all-wheel drive is available as an option. The only gearbox offered is a nine-speed automatic. The all-wheel-drive C300 4MATIC travels from 0 - 60 mph in about five seconds.

Suspension
The new C-Class is standard-equipped with an AGILITY CONTROL suspension with continuously adjustable damping. The key components of the dynamically configured suspension are a four-link axle at the front and a multi-link axle at the rear mounted to a subframe. The suspension provides the basis for a high level of suspension, ride and noise comfort, agile handling and driving fun. With the optionally available AMG Line, the new C-Class is equipped with a sport suspension.

Still a Best-Seller
In the last decade, the C-Class was the highest-volume Mercedes-Benz model. Since the introduction of the still-current generation in 2014, over 2.5 million Sedan and Wagon models have been sold globally. The USA, Germany and Great Britain have been the largest sales markets for the C-Class Sedan and Wagon models in the last ten years. In 2020, the C-Class Sedan and Wagon were delivered to customers in more than 100 markets around the world.
